It’s in our name, and central to our purpose as a company, but do you know about ‘SuperFrozen’ and the benefits the technology offers? Seafood preservation is notoriously difficult, with products prone to degradation, limited shelf lives, food safety concerns and large amounts of waste. Carbon monoxide and other artificial additives are often used throughout the industry to alter the perceived quality and freshness of seafood. For tuna, these manipulations give a vibrant red color to products before they reach consumers, but at Oddisea we believe in keeping our products completely clean and natural. Introducing the solution: SuperFrozen products. SuperFrozen technology is the only 100% natural method of preserving a product’s fresh-caught texture, color and flavor with zero additives. By rapidly freezing products at extremely low temperatures of -76oF, it reduces the formation of ice crystals and other issues associated with typical higher temperature freezing, preserving premium products that thaw to a fresh-caught quality. And by processing and freezing the product at the source, shelf-life is extended, enabling more sustainable shipping methods to be utilized and significantly reducing, if not eliminating, waste.
