??? When native tools fall short, we build our own. A client recently asked us to monitor VM uptime across both #Azure and on-prem environments. But Azure Monitor didn’t offer a native solution, and even Microsoft’s own metrics couldn’t support a hybrid setup. ? ?? So, our team got creative. ? By leveraging heartbeat data and KQL, we created a custom uptime metric, then built a pipeline to store results for long-term dashboards and historical insights. ? ?? The result? A scalable solution that’s already making a difference. Shoutout to Matthew Day and Atemnkeng Njinju for turning a tricky challenge into a repeatable win.
